Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree / National 3 year- Diploma in Events / Business Management, Marketing or related field.                
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license.
  • 5 years’ experience working in an Events Management, Business Development and Marketing role or similar.
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role in a Hospitality/ Business oriented environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of food, health and safety legislations and other related compliances

Responsibilities
  • To provide event management capacity to Support Services with the goal of maximising profits through 3rd stream income, improve stakeholder relations and diversity client base. 
  • Do sales projections, set revenue targets and forecasting
  • Setting goals, developing plans for business and revenue growth.
  • Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives., long term business opportunities and viable, sustainable income streams
  • Manage Catering Events/ Conferences and Vacation accommodation programme with a goal of Maximising profits through 3rd stream income.
  • Manage a centralized university events activity with all stakeholders – events procedures
  • Manage the process of business development within the University to promote its longevity.
  • Source, meet potential clients and maintain existing relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Expand client database
  • Monitor Marketing trends and actively engage in new business ventures to maximise profits.
  • Following industry trends locally and internationally
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, business terms and conditions

  • Draft new and manage allocated budgets
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the operations department

  • Manage /monitor tenant contracts and income
  • Do costings related to commercial leases – rental income and profitability
  • Assist in any other duties or projects assigned by management
  • Risk and quality management with catering services/area of responsibility
