Purpose

  • Shoprite Group is seeking a Regional Secretary based in Allensnek, Gauteng, to provide high-level administrative support to regional management within a dynamic retail environment.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in office management, calendar coordination, document preparation, and stakeholder communication, ensuring efficient regional operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, excellent organisational skills, and strong interpersonal abilities are essential.

Requirements
  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration, Secretarial Studies, or related field (advantageous).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a secretarial or administrative role, preferably within a regional or corporate environment.
  • Experience in managing complex diaries and arranging meetings.
  • Proven track record of handling confidential information responsibly.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional local languages an advantage).
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and basic financial administration.
Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient secretarial and administrative support to the Regional Manager and team.
  • Manage correspondence, schedules, and regional documentation accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up on action items.
  • Maintain confidential records and reports with high attention to detail.
  • Facilitate communication between regional offices, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Support the implementation of regional projects and events.
