Purpose

  • Join Woolworths at Hemingways Mall, East London, as a Till Operator/Customer Assistant and be part of a dynamic team committed to exceptional customer service.
  • In this full-time role within our Corporate Stores division, you will manage till transactions efficiently, provide outstanding service by greeting and assisting customers, and promote Woolworths' loyalty programs and services.

Requirements
  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF level qualification
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Relevant retail or customer service experience advantageous

  • Strong verbal communication skills for effective customer interaction
  • Intermediate numeracy and literacy skills
  • Basic selling skills to promote loyalty programs and additional services

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers warmly at till points.
  • Efficiently and accurately process till transactions in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote Woolworths' loyalty programs and additional services such as bill payments and airtime.
  • Maintain a hygienic, safe, and well-organised till area to ensure a positive shopping environment.
  • Apply basic product knowledge to assist customers with inquiries and recommend suitable products.
  • Adhere to shopkeeping disciplines to minimise shrinkage, reporting any dishonesty promptly.
  • Demonstrate reliability through punctuality, professional dress, and adherence to company codes.
  • Work calmly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.
  • Participate in team meetings and comply with daily operational focuses and goals.
