Purpose
- The Division for Student Development and Support (SDS) plays a leading role in creating a holistically focused, enabling environment and provides excellent opportunities for students to develop to their full potential as active scholars and socially responsive leaders in South Africa.
- Applications for the post of Coordinator: Living-Learning at Reslife, are invited from dynamic and vibrant professionals who constantly strive for personal growth, self-improvement, and excellent service to others. It is essential that applicants can demonstrate relevant student housing experience at a tertiary level; they must be client and service oriented and passionate about students and their curricular and co-curricular development and well-being.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Living-Learning Communities for the UWC Residential Services (RS) (including private accommodation), as well as the development of monitoring and evaluation practices for co-curricular (training, development, and support) initiatives across Student Communities.
- The incumbent is furthermore responsible for driving holistic, research-informed academic and psychosocial support programmes and using research activities to develop impact assessments around these programmes.
Requirements
- Honours Degree in Psychology or Degree in Social Work (NQF 8);
- Current SACSSP or HPCSA registration;
- 5 years relevant experience;
- 2 years demonstrated evidence of involvement in training/workshop/seminar development and facilitation with large and small groups;
- 2 years supervision experience in a clinical/counselling setting;
- Familiarity with working in an academic/residence environment in the Higher Education context as well as working directly with tertiary students in the co-curricular space;
- Demonstrated ability to network across various organisation;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- Must be prepared to work after hours when required.

Responsibilities
- Coordination of all Living-Learning and psychosocial support services offered to students living in UWC student communities (includes private accommodation);
- Human resource administration and coordination of staff in the Living-Learning Office;
- Overall coordination and oversight for collaboration between the RS department and the Social Work department in term of the final year Social Work department interns, and, overall supervision for RS Counselling resources caseloads;
- Reconciliation and reporting on all RS research – based practices and activities in line with SDS;
- Strategic outputs (includes but is not limited to all programming monitoring and evaluations, RS surveys and other student and student-staff feedback in respect of RS’ Living-Learning strategy);
- Cultivating relationships with various faculty members and other departments for sustained involvement in academically related activities in the Living-Learning spaces.
