Purpose

• Reporting to the Team Leader – Transport, responsible for executing the plans of the bulk transport.

Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12
• 2- year transportation related qualification at NQF level 5.
• Computer literacy
• A minimum of 3 years transport experience in the road transport Industry of which at least 1 years in a bulk commodities environment (including cross border, bonded cargo).

Skills & Competencies

• Data analysis and statistical aptitude.
• Highly conscientious and diligent.
• Good Understanding and interpretation of Road Traffic, Regulation, and local Municipal by-laws and cross border requirements.
• Understanding of ISO9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018 standards.

• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Planning and Executing

• Daily execution of the Team Leader’s plans by communication with relevant suppliers and customer.
• Liaising with mine based teams, customs teams and ports teams to ensure correct loads are loaded and offloaded at correct locations.
• Reporting any division in plans to the team leader for correction.
   

Reporting

• Ensuring that the daily load tracker is up to dat for invoicing daily.
• Daily Management Report.

Transport Capacity

• Communicating with transporters on available fleet for loading.

People Management

• Self-development.
• Resolves labour issues when they occur.
• Participate in performance reviews.
•  Planning and executing of training needs.

Daily Activities

•  Communication to contractors.
• Provide support to the transport team leaders with their daily activities.
• Management of customer expectations.
• Deviation Management.
• Team motivation and communication.
• Reporting to Management on daily performance.
• Effective Contractor management.
