Purpose

  • To ensure effective inventory and planning practices, processes, technology, and resources for supply chain activities from source to store and efficient cost and inventory management across the supply chain ensuring the right stock at the right store at the right time to support availability and sales.
  • To manage effective DC capacity planning, order flow processes, shipping activities, system parameter tuning and an Omni planning process that supports online sales directive.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations research related field
  • 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain management, inventory management, preferably supply and/or demand planning with 5 years at the Senior Management level
  • A minimum of 5 years managing a team
  • Proven track record of positions involved in influencing key stakeholders
  • 5 Years functional experience - Forecasting and Replenishment
  • Direct experience using inventory management planning systems and processes
  • Strategic leadership experience applying business and financial skills and knowledge to solve problems and influence decision making

Responsibilities
  • To achieve targeted Supplier Infill, DC Availability, and Store availability metrics.
  • To effectively manage and monitor stock budgets, receipts (vendor infill) and inventory flow.
  • To ensure effective stakeholder management and engagement in order to drive supply chain optimisation projects, compliance processes and vendor collaborative forecasting and replenishment practices.
  • To deliver high local and import infill to DC’s through building collaborative vendor relationships that segment vendors according to importance and to ensure appropriate operational performance (KPI: Infill local vendors and DC availability, local and import).
  • To work collaboratively with suppliers to drive cost efficiencies in inbound supply chain and share supplier forecasts and performance with suppliers and categories.
  • To deliver accurate and timely management reports (historical results, forecasts, budgets) on an ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • To perform ad hoc analyses as appropriate to support goals and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in order to achieve “best in practice” discipline and by analyzing sales trends, profit, FWC, WOS, aged stock and goals.
  • To work collaboratively with the Demand Planning management to ensure the execution of the planned inventory spend and optimization to effectively utilize the sales history on new lines, oncers and events as well as inventory requirements.
  • To collaborate with private label to develop private label supplier capacity to improve performance
  • To manage the overall import process to ensure timeous delivery to Distribution Centers and to balance cost versus service (KPI: Imports on Time, imports efficiency i.e. cost per unit, Import DC Availability and DC Capacity Planning).
  • To continuously check and set inbound supplier lead times and inform stock policy based on supplier performance.
  • To actively manage key accounts to improve performance and enforce contract penalties for poor performance.
  • To support business with all Supply Chain and Supply planning related queries and investigations.
Additional Information

Desirable

  • Masters or Post Graduate level degree:  Supply Chain Management or related fields an advantage
  • Experience operating Blue Yonder software packages, navigation and a high level understanding of the system dynamics which dictate outcome/performance
  • Understanding of customer needs and wants, trends, competitive environment and market share
  • Understanding Demand Planning and forecasting
  • Knowledge of S&OP processes and the role it plays in ensuring alignment throughout the organisation
  • Supply chain experience in both planning and distribution in the Retail / FMCG industry
