Requirements
  • Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Appropriate administrative experience in a Human Resources, Employee Relations, Human Resource Development, Employee Health and Wellness, or office administration environment.
Skills & Competencies
  • Good knowledge of general office administration and records management practices.
  • Sound computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Public Service Act, Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act and relevant departmental policies will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with employee information.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Employee Relations function, including scheduling meetings, maintaining confidential records, preparing documentation and taking minutes.
  • Coordinate administrative activities relating to Human Resource Development, including training administration, induction, maintaining training records and compiling reports.
  • Provide administrative support for Employee Health and Wellness programmes, including coordinating wellness activities, maintaining attendance registers, statistics and confidential records.
  • Maintain manual and electronic filing systems, registers, databases and tracking tools.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, reports, procurement requests and meeting arrangements.
  • Provide reception, telephonic and administrative support to the People Management component.
  • Provide administrative relief support within the broader People Management component when required.

Remuneration
