Purpose

  • Coordinate projects to develop, implement, and support comprehensive programs for Key Populations, focusing on prevention, treatment, and care.
  • These initiatives include addressing human rights violations and providing psychosocial interventions for Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) and Transgender Persons (TG).
  • The DIC Manager plays a crucial role as a key member of the Project Management Team, overseeing the HIV Prevention Project.
  • This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including the effective administration, organisation, and coordination of all project activities.
  • The DIC manager ensures that the project's objectives—such as reducing HIV transmission rates and increasing community awareness are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Additionally, the DIC Manager is tasked with maintaining clear communication among team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • This includes organising regular meetings, monitoring progress against project goals, and implementing necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College/University or equivalent - Nursing, or related field
  • NIMART Certified (Western Department of Health)
  • Dispensing Licence
  • Registration with South African Nursing Council
  • 2 years’ experience in working with Key Populations: MSM/TG
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Project Management
  • Experience in analysing Data and summarising vast amounts of Data into Graphs
  • Minimum Two (2) years progressively responsible experience in Development Program co-ordination, Key Populations, or related Public Health Project Management
  • Technical experience in one or more of the following areas: Stakeholder Relations, Technical Support, Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation, Internal/External Stakeholder Communications
  • Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) by land or air if required
  • Advanced knowledge of HIV/Aids and TB Management
  • Own Car
  • Valid Driver’s license

Responsibilities
  • The DIC Manager will be the project lead at the site level of implementation of the HIV prevention project with support from the Programme Manager. S/He must have an in-depth understanding of clinical management of HIV/TB/STI clients as well as experience in health care systems in resource-limited settings for public health delivery, especially TB and HIV/AIDS programmes.
  • He/ She will proactively support all capacity building activities/ workshops for HIV prevention implementing sites to enhance the effective implementation of planned activities needed to generate data and statistics.
  • Work closely with and supervise project staff at implementation sites and ensure the strategic and functional integration of all technical areas needed for smooth implementation
  • Conduct daily supportive supervision visits to sites to provide on-site coaching of health staff whilst solving emerging challenges with implementation
  • Ensure timely and quality completion of all project technical deliverables at sites and report in accordance with project guidelines
  • Support the M&E Manager in monitoring and evaluation and provision of technical assistance to implementing sites
  • Liaise with all Stakeholders when necessary, towards the achievement of Organizational and Departmental Goals
  • S/He will be required to provide health services onsite, including ART and PrEP initiation and other available comprehensive services.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the KP Programme Director
