Fresh Manager

A dynamic and customer-focused SUPERSPAR Savoy store is seeking to appoint an experienced and results-driven Fresh Manager to lead and manage the Fresh Departments within the store.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Fresh Departments, ensuring exceptional merchandising standards, stock management, profitability, food safety compliance, and outstanding customer service in line with SPAR operational standards.

Grade 12 / Matric.
Relevant Retail or Food Management qualification will be advantageous.
Minimum 3–5 years’ management experience within a supermarket or FMCG retail environment.

Strong experience in Fresh Department operations.
Sound knowledge of stock control, merchandising, food safety, and waste management.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Computer literacy and retail systems experience.

Manage and oversee all Fresh Departments, including:
- Fruit & Vegetables
- Butchery
- Bakery
- Deli
- Dairy
Ensure departments achieve sales, gross profit, and waste targets.
Maintain high standards of merchandising, hygiene, housekeeping, and food safety.
Manage stock ordering, stock rotation, shrinkage, and stock control processes.
Lead, supervise, and develop departmental staff.
Ensure excellent customer service and efficient handling of customer queries.
Implement and maintain SPAR operational and merchandising standards.
Monitor departmental performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal audit requirements.
