Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre SHEQ Coordinator, to oversee and liaise with clients on SHEQ and align system with their requirements and protocols and must have experience in developing, implementing and maintaining an integrated SHEQ management system.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Handle general queries regarding HSE issues within the working environment
  • Ability to work independently under pressure meeting contract and customer deadlines
  • An understanding of processes relating to Accident & Incident investigation, reporting, recording and application of remedial action
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections
  • Conduct risk assessments as and when required
  • Assist Contract Manager in audit preparation
  • Update SHEQ Notice boards on a regularly
  • Collect and compile SHEQ statistics & metrics for reporting purposes
  • Monthly operations audits to monitor compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Update information on Isometrix System i.e. capturing of reports for all incidents, accidents, inspections and audits etc.
  • Review driver matrix regarding training, medicals and working and driving hours to ensure company and customer requirements are met.
  • Housekeeping standards are maintained in accordance with legal, company procedures and contract requirements.
  • Monitor customers SHEQ performance measurements and requirements and ensure they are available in Isometrix
  • In conjunction with the Human Capital Department ensure that the required SHEQ training is maintained and is aligned with the business strategy
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety stand-downs
  • DriveCam monitoring and reporting
  • Co-ordination of ad-hoc SHEQ projects as and when required
  • Management of Sub Contractor compliance

Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12 with a relevant SHEQ qualification
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in MS Office  
  • Sound knowledge of OHASA, ISO 9001 and 14001 Management Systems, COID Act, relevant Road Traffic legislation and SANS Standards
  • Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license
  • Extensive Inter-provincial travel is a requirement of the position
  • Knowledge of Insurance Claims process will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of the Transport Industry will be a definite advantage
