Netcare Reception Manager Blaauwberg, Cape Town

Purpose

  • The Reception Manager is responsible for the overall management of the reception area, reception staff and
  • credit control.
  • The Incumbent will also be responsible for admissions and discharge of patients in a professional, friendly and timeous manner as well as creating and maintaining goodwill with doctors and liaison with nursing staff regarding bed bookings.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
  • Qualification in Administration (preferable)
  • 5 Years’ experience in a Reception
  • Private Hospital Experience will be advantageous

Skills & Competencies

  • Computer Literate
  • Working Knowledge of SAP ISH

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees admit patients in a professional, orderly manner
  • Ensure employees collect deposits and surcharges where applicable
  • Checking admission forms to ensure that they are correct
  • Liaise with doctors regarding Theatre List and diagnosis
  • Liaise with nursing employees regarding bed bookings
  • Ensure employees discharge patients in a professional, orderly manner
  • Ensure employees collect outstanding monies due by private patients
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed on the SAP system
  • Implementation, monitoring and maintenance of all reception systems and controls
  • Compliance with Group Policy and Procedures
  • Kronos time keeping system checked weekly/monthly
  • To ensure a smooth work flow in reception at all times
  • Liaise with Hospital Management regarding “special” written arrangements
  • Telephonic enquiries and queries
  • Ordering stationery
  • Ensure compliance with all audit requirements relating to the admit-to-receipt processes and complete the monthly Control Self-Assessment (CSA)
  • Liaise with the Regional Patient Administration Manager on Key Performance Indicators
  • Perform daily banking and ensure accuracy of receipting and daily banking reconciliations
  • Overall management of the Reception Team and performance thereof
  • Implement strategic plans, objectives and budgets through effective recruiting, training, motivation & evaluation of staff
  • Develop high performers
  • Manage and assess employee performance
  • Assign decision making authority and task responsibility appropriately in order to maximise organisation and employee effectiveness
  • Facilitate effective change & conflict management
  • Assume responsibility for own personal and professional development
  • Keep up to date with Netcare’s evolving policies and procedures
  • Perform any reasonable task as instructed by the immediate supervisor
