Requirements
  • A Bachelors Degree in Nursing or a Diploma in Nursing
  • A relevant management and or leadership qualification will serve as an advantage
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience as a Professional Nurse .
  • A minimum of 2-3 years management experience at unit level will serve as an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
  • Willingness to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the hospital.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • A good understanding and application of the nursing scope of practice, knowledge of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Competence relevant nursing legislation and complaint managment.
  • The management of staff productivity and a basic knowledge of HR processes including Employee Relations
  • Sound knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control protocols and risk management.
  • Guides, motivates and develops others for a future fit organisation.
  • The ability to adapt and to respond constructively to pressure or stressful challenges.
  • Good planning and organising skills that contribute to meeting objectives.
  • Strives to be client focused by keeping the client informed and focusing on their experience.
  • The ability to analyse job related data and information to assist in problem-solving.
  • Collaborates with and supports colleagues by building trusting relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Delivers a quality service to patients in accordance with patient safety standards.
  • Achieves clinical quality standards according to set policies and procedures.
