Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Planner to do planning, organizing and interdepartmental coordination. Please refer to the minimum requirements, duties and responsibilities below for further information.
Responsibilities
• Data cleaning / mining
• Advanced data analytics and geocoding
• Route planning and schedule loads within agreed customer SLA
• Application of least cost route planning methodologies to optimize routes on Alto
• Provide support for the operational team, and ensure optimal customer service levels
• Understand, maintain and optimise varying operational and financial processes
• Plan efficient and safe routes for drivers whilst still ensuring the company remains within government legislation and within time deadlines
• Monitor, analyse and report on financial cost implications on executed trips
• Review holistic logistics/supply chain process to identify possible areas of operational improvement and optimization
• Report daily/weekly/monthly on identified inefficiencies and possible solutions to rectify
• Create, update and manipulate VBA, Power BI and Qlik dashboards for reporting purposes
• Effective communication to the client’s and USCS operational/management staff regarding vehicle availability, planned deviations, delays, breakdowns, incidents/accidents and possible non-deliveries
Requirements
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering
• Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a road transport environment
• Excellent MS Office and Excel capabilities
• Ability to use and update Google sheets, Power BI and Qlik platforms/models
• Basic financial knowledge - cash flows, income statements, balance sheets and relative logistical costs
• Exposure and use on the Mix Telematics platform is preferred
• Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Ability to work after hours as and when required.
