Purpose

•  The main purpose of this position is to manage the residences catering operation, including planning, financial, procurement and staff management. 

Requirements

• Tertiary catering / food services qualification (NQF Level 6)
• 6 years hospitality management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in large scale catering (including kitchen management/ food management).
• Experience with supply chain management.
• Proven people management skills, preferably in a multi union environment.
• Experience in budgeting & Financial management.
• Proven strategic food services management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy. (E mail, MS Office suite)
• Experience in catering contingency planning.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Honesty and integrity in handling and managing finance

The following would be considered advantageous:

• Experience in food services associated with the tertiary education sector.
• Ability to speak two South African languages.

Responsibilities

• Providing strategic and specialist input for catering planning & focus in respect of residence catering operations.
• Planning, co-ordinating & monitoring the execution of the residences catering operation
• Financial responsibility for the catering budget
• Risk management
• Human Resource Management
• Stakeholder Management.

Additional Information

Salary:

• The annual cost of employment, including benefits, is between R615 025 and R723 556.
