Purpose

  • Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites suitable, unemployed South African graduates between the ages of 18-35 to apply for a 12-18 months internship programme, within various functional areas to be provided with both the institutionalised knowledge and on-the-job training, to provide practical workplace experience to students or recent graduates, helping them apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.
  • This role is designed to enhance employability by offering hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific tasks.
  • This exciting opportunity is aimed at all students from registered TVET Colleges and Higher Education Institutions, who have no bursary obligation, and must have completed all theoretical training at the college.
  • With no prior work experience in their respective field of study.

Requirements
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Certified copy of grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Certified copy of qualifications/statement of results in Communication/Public Relations
  • Stamped letter from Institution requesting In-service training (where applicable)
  • Stamped Confirmation letter for theory completion from Institution
  • Certified copy of South African Identity Document
  • Proof of residential address
  • No prior work experience is required. However, applicants will undergo a recruitment process, and successful candidates will be placed in various Depots, Departments within TFR.
