Marketing Trainee

Purpose
- SPAR Western Cape, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd., is recruiting for a Marketing Trainee. Fixed Term Contract – 2 years.
- The purpose of this position is to purchase stock (warehouse and drop shipment – normal and promotional) within budget parameters to be in stock of the right product, at the right quantity and bought at the right place.
- To provide administrative support to the Category Buyer and to serve as an understudy to the Category Buyer.
Requirements
- A Matric Certificate
- Must be in the process of or have completed an equivalent of a 3-year Marketing Degree or Diploma
- Should have previous retail FMCG experience
Skills & Competencies
- Must have a high energy drive with lots of passion for cause
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Should want to pursue a career in FMCG buying
Responsibilities
- Procurement of stock and managing stock levels
- Maintaining Inbound and Outbound DC service levels
- Inputting pricing onto AS400 computer system
- Providing general administration support to the category buyer
- Attending to any special projects that might be assigned
