Purpose

• The purpose of this underwriting position is to assist with underwriting of new policies and renewals, including client services and processes associated with underwriting.

Requirements

• Completed B degree
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and at least one other of the official South African languages
• Working experience as an Underwriter within the financial services industry
• Completed the RE5 Examination Level 1 (Recommended)

Responsibilities

• Issuing new policies, renewals and endorsements on the system
• Prepare new business quotes
• Negotiating renewal terms and preparing the renewal documentation
• Checking policies before sending it to brokers
• Telephone contact with brokers when they phone in with queries or amendments / additional covers
• Arrange Facultative Reinsurance when required
