Purpose
- Casidra currently seeks to recruit a Project Manager to assist the existing team to plan, design, facilitate and implement projects for beneficiaries through government and private sector funding, by applying technical knowledge and skills through effective project management.
- The successful candidate will report to the Programme Manager: Environment Sustainability.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in the Construction built Environment or a relevant tertiary qualification
- A Project Management qualification would be advantageous
- Sound understanding of construction standards, infrastructure development and municipal regulations
- At least 3 years’ experience in a construction environment working with infrastructure projects (building, civil, or structural)
- At least 2 years of experience in project management, budgeting, procurement and report writing
- In-dept understanding of technical drawings, construction and detailing
- Ability to draft technical specifications
- A valid Code B driver’s license

Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation
- Plan, design, and implement infrastructure projects in accordance with approved business plans.
- Plan and implement irrigation layouts, including water supply systems, pumps, irrigation heads, control systems and filtration systems.
- Develop and manage project schedules (Gantt charts) to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate project activities between government departments, beneficiaries, contractors, consultants and service providers.
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure the effective execution of project plans.
Technical Design & Quality Assurance
- Develop or oversee technical designs, construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Liaise with engineers, specialists and service providers to obtain technical inputs and product specifications.
- Ensure compliance with municipal requirements, engineering standards and project specifications.
- Conduct quality control inspections on civil, mechanical, electrical and structural construction works.
- Continuously evaluate projects and implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.
Project Monitoring, Reporting & Contract Administration
- Maintain accurate project documentation in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and project completion reports.
- Provide regular progress updates to management, funders and stakeholders.
- Ensure reports accurately reflect project implementation and progress.
- Administer construction contracts and monitor contractor performance and contractual compliance.
- Draft and process payment certificates in accordance with contractual milestones and completed work.
Financial, Procurement & Cost Management
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, tender procedures and financial regulations.
- Prepare and verify capital requests and tender documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow and expenditure.
- Prevent irregular, wasteful or unauthorised expenditure.
- Prepare quantity surveys, cost estimates and costing of works to support project planning and implementation.
Risk, Safety & Compliance
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Verify contractor compliance with COIDA, SHE requirements, insurance and statutory obligations.
- Safeguard project assets and ensure safe construction site practices.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as liaison between government departments, beneficiaries, consultants, contractors and service providers.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication, responsiveness and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Remuneration
