Purpose

  • Provision of financial, administrative, and clerical services to the Agency to ensure effective and accurate financial operations.

Requirements
  • An appropriate 3-year Degree / National Diploma in Financial Management / Financial Accounting or an equivalent qualification with at least 3 years proven relevant experience in a financial management position.
Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial and payroll information.
  • Knowledge of working with SAP system.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Public Sector accounting principles and applicable legislations is an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Supply Chain Management Policy, office administration, bookkeeping and payroll.
  • Honesty, integrity, and confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.
  • Effective communication (both verbal and written) skills.
  • Very effective organizational and time management skills. 8. Demonstrate sound work ethics.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Implementation and adherence to the Supply Chain Management Policy and other financial management policies i.e., PFMA, National Treasury etc. and the BGCMA’s Financial Policies and Procedures.
  • Administration of tenders.
  • Monthly financial processing/capturing.
  • Assist with control over the administration of accounts.
  • Handling audit and related queries.
  • Monitoring of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Checking and verifying received invoices and documentation for payment.
  • Ensure that payments are made on time to suppliers.
  • Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
  • Maintain the database of suppliers and ensure that suppliers are rotated.
  • Responsible for enquires on different financial matters.
  • Ensuring a proper, neat and accurate filing.
  • Ensure that records of financial transactions are updated timeously and correctly.
  • Verify that transactions comply with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Do journal entries.
  • Responsible for petty cash of the Agency and petty cash purchase.

  • The successful candidate will be appointed on a probation of six (6) months and then permanent should all the conditions of the probation be satisfied.

Remuneration
  • R292 964 basic salary per annum
