Purpose
- Student support (The position is based both at the University of Fort Hare (UFH) Legal Aid Clinic in East London and Alice Campuses.
- UFH legal aid clinic two (2) year appointment contract.
Requirements
- An LLB or Equivalent Degree from a South African University, an advanced degree in law will be an advantage.
- Admitted as Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (attach proof).
- Good standing with relevant Legal Practice Council (attach proof).
- A minimum of one (1) year post-admission legal practice experience obtained within the last five (5) years.
- A minimum of one-year experience in teaching and/or facilitation of legal education and/or training in a higher education environment would be an advantage.
- Proven ability in criminal and civil litigation as well as case management.

Responsibilities
- Implement, facilitate, and monitor the clinical legal education training program for undergraduate law students at the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
- Facilitate the training of candidate attorneys and students as required.
- Ensure active involvement in research activities of the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
- Provide legal services in line with services offered by the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
- Provide consultation sessions and assistance for law students.
- Assist with community engagement programs at Faculty of Law.
- Work in a team with colleagues within the Faculty.
- Contribute to academic coordination and perform administrative tasks related to the provision of legal services and student teaching at the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
