Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller: Fixed Assets, to join the Finance division, at CCBA. The successful applicant will report directly into the Financial Manager: Financial Accounting. The applicant may reside in any of the CCBA footprint of countries: South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia & Zambia.

The primary purpose of the Financial Controller: Fixed Assets is to:
Provide an integrated and optimal CCBA Balance Sheet with regard to assets
Ensure compliance to accounting standards
Ensure CCBA complies to functional specific group policies
Ownership of the capital process in CCBA: forecasting, adjustments & administration of executions
Provide deep financial expertise and knowledge across the financial accounting; assets accountability Deliver a strong governance and control framework in relation to assets
Ensure the assets function is optimally resourced, with capable and motivated people supplying bench strength.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic leadership and ownership of the integration of the CCBA Fixed Asset function, including processes, systems and tools.
Ensure simplified and standardised month/quarter/yearend processes are followed.
Identify opportunities to eliminate process inefficiencies.
Provide a support role in the development and maintenance of Fixed Asset Information Systems, including but not limited to SAP.
Attendance of stock counts and ensure compliance to hard close and year end procedures.
Plan and manage the annual and 3-year budgeting process for Capital Investment.
Provide insightful, timeous asset related reporting for CCBA.
Process management of CCBA’s capital investments.
Custodianship of the fixed asset governance process in line with CCBAs chart of authority and control systems.
Plan and manage fixed asset verification and reconciliation per CCBA and CCBA requirements.
Own the Fixed Asset policy as well as the process for research, recommendation and documentation of
accounting treatment papers and technical accounting queries relating to Fixed Assets. Compliance to SOX, IFRS, internal and external audit as well as other SA regulatory bodies.
Manage the performance of outsourced service provider (i.e. Genpact) performing the activities for the fixed asset function.
Provide value adding and analytical insights identifying opportunities for the optimisation of Fixed Assets.
Ensuring a continuous improvement mind set throughout the fixed assets team.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications:
CA(SA)
Higher Diploma in Taxation advantageous
Experience:
3+ years Financial Accounting experience
Previous asset accounting experience would be advantageous
